Does the VIGI C540S work in complete darkness?
Yes. ColourPro Night Vision is designed for ultra-low light environments and produces full-colour images without any supplemental lighting. It outperforms both standard IR cameras (which produce black-and-white images) and conventional full-colour cameras (which require bright spotlights) in low-light conditions.
What PoE standard does the C540S require?
The camera is powered via PoE (IEEE 802.3af/at). A compatible PoE switch or PoE injector is required. For high-wattage PoE injectors, see the TP-Link TL-POE170S available in our store.
Can I use this camera without an NVR?
Yes. The C540S supports onboard microSD storage (up to 256GB) and can be managed directly via the VIGI app or VIGI Security Manager software on a PC — no NVR is required for standalone deployments.
How does automatic tracking work?
When a person or vehicle enters the camera's field of view, the AI tracking algorithm locks onto the subject and moves the pan tilt mechanism to follow them across the scene, maintaining continuous footage without manual intervention.
Is face recognition available out of the box?
Face recognition requires configuration through the VIGI NVR or VIGI Security Manager software, where you build and manage the face library. It is not enabled by default and requires initial setup by an installer or IT administrator.
What is the IP66 rating?
IP66 means the camera is fully protected against dust ingress and powerful water jets from any direction. It is suitable for exposed outdoor installations in Australian conditions including rain, humidity, and dust.
