Choose the connection that suits the site
The TC90G KIT uses 4G LTE for locations without reliable Wi-Fi. A compatible nano-SIM, active mobile plan and usable carrier coverage are required. Live viewing, cloud services, notifications and updates consume mobile data.
Recording and running costs
Use a compatible microSD card, up to 512GB, for local storage. The card is separate. Tapo Care cloud storage is optional and requires a subscription; available features and plan terms should be checked with TP-Link. Recording duration depends on capacity, scene activity and the selected settings.
Power and installation planning
Solar charging supplements the rechargeable battery. Performance depends on direct sunlight, panel orientation, weather and camera activity. Place the panel where it receives useful sunlight and check charging status after installation. Battery cameras should not be assumed to behave like continuously powered 24/7 recorders.
Detection and night viewing
Configure detection areas and tracking for the actual scene to reduce unwanted alerts. Built-in lights support colour night viewing, while infrared provides an alternative monochrome mode. Detection results depend on distance, placement, lighting and the scene; no camera can guarantee every event will be identified.
