Does the EAP615-Wall require a controller to operate?
No. It can run in standalone mode via the Omada App for basic configuration. However, for multi-AP deployments, VLAN management, and advanced features, an Omada Software or Hardware Controller is strongly recommended.
What PoE standard does it require?
The EAP615-Wall requires an 802.3at (PoE+) uplink to operate at full capacity. If PoE passthrough to a downstream device is needed, ensure your switch budget accounts for the additional load (up to 15.4 W passthrough via 802.3af).
Will it fit a standard Australian wall plate?
The EAP615-Wall is designed for an 86 × 86 mm wall plate, which is a common international standard. It does not fit the standard Australian 2-gang or 1-gang grid plate directly — a compatible 86 mm wall box or surface mount enclosure is required. Check with your installer for the appropriate back box.
How many access points can I manage with one Omada controller?
The OC200 supports up to 100 devices; the OC300 supports up to 500 devices. The Omada Cloud-Based Controller (CBC) supports unlimited sites and devices under a subscription model.
Does it support seamless roaming between multiple APs?
Yes. When managed by an Omada controller, the EAP615-Wall supports 802.11r (Fast BSS Transition), 802.11k (Neighbour Reports), and 802.11v (BSS Transition Management) for seamless client roaming across your wireless network.
Is the EAP615-Wall suitable for outdoor use?
No. It is rated for indoor use only (0 °C to 40 °C operating temperature) and has no IP ingress protection rating. For outdoor deployments, consider the Omada EAP outdoor range.
