Do I still need a separate modem?

Can I keep my existing landline phone?
The Deco X73-DSL includes two FXS ports for connecting standard analogue phones. Whether you can retain your existing number depends on your NBN provider’s VoIP service — confirm with your ISP before purchasing if landline continuity is important.

Yes. Additional Deco nodes (such as the Deco X50 or Deco XE75) connect to the X73-DSL via wireless mesh or optional Ethernet backhaul to extend coverage throughout larger homes.

What NBN connection types does it NOT support?
The Deco X73-DSL is not compatible with NBN FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), FTTC (Fibre to the Curb), HFC (cable), or Fixed Wireless connections. For those connection types, you will need a standard router without a built-in DSL modem.
