Dual 4 MP · 4× optical zoom · Active deterrence · PoE+
Keep the wide view while checking detail with the PTZ
The HiLook PTZ-ND4404/SL#AUS combines two 4 MP channels in one outdoor camera. A fixed 2.8 mm overview channel continuously watches the wider scene, while the separate motorised PTZ channel can pan, tilt and optically zoom from 2.8 to 12 mm. This gives an operator both context and a closer view without asking one lens to do both jobs.
It is a practical option for yards, car parks, warehouses, schools and larger residential properties. Human and vehicle detection helps make supported motion, line-crossing and intrusion events more relevant, while the red-and-blue strobe and built-in speaker can provide an immediate on-site warning.

How the two channels work
Fixed overview channel
The 2.8 mm lens provides a 114.9° horizontal view. It uses hybrid infrared and white illumination, with both listed to reach up to 30 metres.
Motorised PTZ channel
The 2.8–12 mm lens provides genuine 4× optical zoom. Its horizontal view changes from 98° at the wide end to 34.2° at the telephoto end, with infrared illumination up to 40 metres.
Flexible positioning
The PTZ channel pans from 0° to 350° and tilts from -5° to 90°. It supports 300 presets and eight patrols, with up to 32 presets in each patrol.
Both views remain available
Each channel can output 2560 × 1440 video at up to 15 fps, so the overview can keep recording while the PTZ is directed towards another area.
Best suited to
Car parks and yards
Maintain a broad overview while using optical zoom to inspect an entrance, vehicle or activity further away.
Warehouses and depots
Cover loading zones and open work areas with one dual-channel camera and use presets for repeatable points of interest.
Schools and community sites
Use human and vehicle filtering to improve the relevance of supported perimeter alerts outside operating hours.
Large residential properties
Watch a wide driveway or acreage approach while retaining the option to inspect detail with the PTZ lens.
Smart alerts and active deterrence
The camera supports motion detection, video tampering and exception events, plus line-crossing and intrusion detection on both lenses. HiLook specifies human and vehicle detection to help reduce alerts caused by unrelated movement. The built-in red-and-blue strobe and speaker can warn an intruder when a supported event is triggered.
Important before ordering
-
PoE+ is required: use a suitable PoE+ switch or injector, or power the camera from a compatible 12 VDC supply.
-
Maximum recording rate: both 4 MP channels are rated at up to 15 fps. This suits general surveillance and evidence capture, but it is not the best choice for very fast-moving traffic.
-
Automatic tracking: HiLook does not list auto-tracking for the PTZ-ND4404/SL#AUS. The PTZ supports manual control, 300 presets, patrols, 3D positioning and event-linked PTZ actions.
-
Audio: the camera includes one microphone and one speaker. The official datasheet describes an audio alarm but does not promise two-way talk, so do not purchase it specifically for intercom use.
-
Recorder compatibility: it works most smoothly with a compatible HiLook or Hikvision NVR. ONVIF Profiles S, G and T are supported for suitable third-party systems.

Telephoto DORI guidance
At the telephoto end of the PTZ lens, HiLook publishes indicative DORI distances of 156.5 m detect, 62.1 m observe, 31.3 m recognise and 15.7 m identify. These are planning estimates rather than guaranteed identification distances; lighting, installation height, subject movement and scene conditions all affect usable detail.
Frequently asked questions
Can both lenses record at the same time?
Yes. The fixed overview and motorised PTZ are separate 4 MP channels, so the wide scene can remain available while the PTZ is aimed or zoomed elsewhere.
Does this camera automatically follow people or vehicles?
No auto-tracking function is listed in the official Australian datasheet. It supports manual PTZ control, presets, patrols, 3D positioning and event-linked PTZ actions.
Is the zoom optical or digital?
The PTZ channel provides genuine 4× optical zoom from 2.8 to 12 mm, plus up to 16× digital zoom. Optical zoom preserves more real detail than digitally enlarging the image.
What night coverage does each lens provide?
The overview channel has infrared and white illumination up to 30 metres. The PTZ channel uses infrared illumination up to 40 metres.
What is the maximum frame rate?
Both 4 MP channels are rated at up to 15 frames per second at full resolution.
Can it use standard PoE?
Use PoE+, not an ordinary PoE-only port. A compatible 12 VDC supply can also be used. Maximum stated power consumption is 13.5 W.
Can it record without an NVR?
Yes. It supports a microSD card up to 512 GB and compatible NAS storage. An NVR remains the better choice for centralised recording, playback and longer retention.
Can I use it for two-way talk?
The camera has a built-in microphone and speaker, but the official datasheet describes the speaker for audio alarms and does not promise two-way talk. Choose an intercom-capable model if conversation is essential.
