Long-range 4K detail with a choice of white or black
The Hikvision DS-2CD2T86G2H-4I is an 8 MP fixed bullet network camera for customers who need clearer identification detail across driveways, property boundaries, car parks and open commercial areas. Its large 1/1.8-inch sensor, bright F1.0 aperture and Powered-by-DarkFighter processing deliver strong low-light performance, while four infrared illuminators provide coverage up to 80 metres in complete darkness.
This listing includes the 4 mm lens only in two colour options. Both models have the same camera specification; select the finish that best suits the building and installation.

Why choose the 4 mm lens?
The 4 mm lens provides a 90° horizontal field of view. Compared with a wider 2.8 mm lens, it gives more useful subject detail at distance while still covering a broad scene. It is a practical choice for driveways, gates, loading areas, fence lines and side access where the important activity is usually further from the camera.
Detect
DORI guidance: up to 109 m for detecting that an object is present.
Observe
Up to 43 m for observing characteristic details such as clothing or movement.
Recognise
Up to 21 m for recognising a known person under suitable conditions.
Identify
Up to 10 m for identification-level detail under suitable conditions.
DORI distances are planning guidance, not a guarantee. Lighting, mounting height, subject movement, compression and scene conditions all affect usable detail.
Best suited to
Driveways and vehicle approaches
The 4 mm view preserves more distant detail while AcuSense filtering helps prioritise people and vehicles.
Warehouses and loading areas
8 MP resolution, 80 m infrared and 120 dB WDR suit large areas with mixed lighting.
Property boundaries
The metal IP67 body and long-range IR make it suitable for exposed outdoor perimeter coverage.
Standalone or NVR recording
Record to a compatible Hikvision NVR, NAS or an onboard microSD card up to 512 GB.
Smarter alerts without unnecessary noise
Human and vehicle classification
Deep-learning analysis can filter motion and perimeter events by human or vehicle target type, reducing alerts from animals, foliage and weather.
Perimeter protection
Supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting rules with human and vehicle filtering.
Face capture
Face capture is listed as supported. Performance depends on camera position, subject angle, distance and lighting.
Useful event actions
Events can trigger recording or capture, notify a surveillance centre, send email, or upload to FTP, NAS or memory card.
Important compatibility notes
- Power the camera using IEEE 802.3af PoE or a suitable 12 VDC supply.
- The official interface list for this 4I model does not include a built-in microphone, speaker or separate alarm/audio connections.
- For Australian 50 Hz systems, the main stream supports up to 25 fps at 8 MP.
- Use a surveillance-grade microSD card if edge recording is required; card capacity is supported up to 512 GB.
- For secure remote access, use current firmware, a strong unique password and supported encrypted protocols.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two variants?Colour only. Both variants use the same 4 mm lens and camera specification. Choose White or Black from the dropdown.
Is this the 2I or 4I version? It is the 4I version, which Hikvision specifies with infrared illumination up to 80 metres. The shorter 2I body is not included in this listing.
Is the lens adjustable or motorised? No. This listing uses a fixed 4 mm lens. The viewing angle is set by physically aiming the camera during installation.
Does the camera have a microphone or speaker? The official interface specification for this 4I model does not list a built-in microphone, speaker or separate audio connection.
Can it record without an NVR?Yes. It can record to a compatible microSD card up to 512 GB or supported NAS storage. An NVR is still recommended for centralised recording, playback and longer retention.
Does it support PoE?Yes. It supports IEEE 802.3af PoE, allowing power and network data over one Ethernet cable from a compatible PoE switch or injector.
Is the black model officially available?Yes. Hikvision lists the DS-2CD2T86G2H-4I(4mm)(eF)(BLACK). The store SKU for that variant is DS-2CD2T86G2H-4I-4MM-BLK.
Will AcuSense remove every false alarm? No. Human and vehicle filtering greatly improves alert relevance, but accuracy still depends on camera position, rule setup, lighting, weather and target size.
