Most installs need a power source, an audio interface and an I/O board. The TU8003 collapses all three into a single DIN-rail or wall-mounted unit sitting in the comms room, which keeps the camera end clean and removes the need for separate encoders or relay modules at the pole.

Audio and I/O connect through the camera’s IP address, so two-way full-duplex audio rides the existing video stream. No second device to license in your VMS.
90 W for demanding PTZ
IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 plus AXIS High PoE supplies 54 V DC at up to 90 W — enough headroom for heated outdoor PTZ domes and wiper-equipped units.
Copper or fibre
A 1 Gbit SFP slot accepts Axis LC.LX, LC.SX or 1000BASE-T modules, so a single midspan serves both standard Cat6 runs and long fibre hauls.
Remote power control
External power control via the I/O interface lets you cut and restore camera power remotely — a genuine fix for a frozen device at the top of a mast.
How much power does the TU8003 actually deliver?Up to 90 W at 54 V DC, using IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 and AXIS High PoE. Note the thermal derating: the full 90 W is rated to 35 °C ambient, 60 W to 50 °C and 30 W to 60 °C.
What does portcast technology do?Portcast lets the midspan use the connected camera’s IP address, so its audio and I/O ports appear as if they were part of the camera. Audio and video travel in a single stream, which means no additional VMS licence for the audio channel.
Which cameras is it designed for?Axis lists it as compatible with a broad range of Axis PTZ cameras (including the Q62 and P56 families), panoramic multidirectional cameras, radar devices and network speakers. Check the compatibility list on the Axis product page for your exact model.
Can I run fibre into it?Yes. The unit has a 1 Gbit SFP slot that accepts Axis modules such as the T8611 (single-mode LC.LX), T8612 (multi-mode LC.SX) or T8613 (1000BASE-T).
What I/O does it provide?Three configurable inputs/digital outputs plus one fixed input on a 6-pin 2.5 mm terminal block, along with a 12 V DC auxiliary output rated to 50 mA.
Does it support two-way audio?Yes — two-way full duplex over a 4-pin 2.5 mm terminal block, with microphone or line input and line output. Encoding covers 24 bit LPCM, AAC-LC, G.711, G.726 and Opus.
How is it mounted?Wall, shelf or DIN rail. The DIN rail clip (AXIS T91A03) is sold separately, as is the AXIS T91G61 Wall Mount used for extended cold-weather installs.
Is it suitable for Australian power?Yes. Input is 100–240 V AC at 50–60 Hz and the unit carries RCM marking to AS/NZS CISPR 32 Class A. The AU part number is 02027-006.
What warranty applies?Axis covers the TU8003 with its 5-year warranty. We supply genuine Australian-stock units, so warranty claims are handled locally.
