Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) — 4MP 36× DarkFighter 2.0 PTZ Network Speed Dome with 300 m IR (NEMA 4X Anti-Corrosion)
The Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) is the IR-equipped flagship of Hikvision's 7A Ultra-Series PTZ line — a 4MP outdoor pan/tilt/zoom speed dome that pairs a 1/1.8" progressive-scan CMOS sensor and a 36× motorised optical zoom (6.0–216 mm · F1.2) with a built-in IR illuminator out to 300 m. DarkFighter 2.0 sensor technology, 150 dB AWDR, Smart Pan-Tilt Correction and a built-in gyroscope EIS round out the imaging chain. The -Y suffix on this Australian-stocked SKU denotes Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated for coastal Australian sites within roughly 2 km of the shoreline and for areas exposed to acid rain. The base DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL (no -Y) ships with no specific corrosion protection; we stock the -Y variant by default.
This is the camera Hikvision builds for completely dark long-range surveillance — rural property boundaries with no street lighting, dark mining haul roads, unlit perimeter walls, river and forest monitoring at scenic spots, unlit rail-yard aprons, scenic-spot and large-venue overwatch. The IR LED array adds 300 m of reliable illumination at full telephoto zoom, while the DarkFighter 2.0 sensor takes over at any time the scene has even modest ambient light. PTZ kinematics are tuned for incident response: 360° continuous pan at up to 550°/s (700°/s max), tilt −20° to +90° auto-flip, 300 presets, 8 patrol routes and 3D click-to-frame positioning. Powered by PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 (90 W class) or 36 VDC, with built-in heater and demist. Cyber-hardened with TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 Level 2). Australian stock, 3-year Australian warranty.

Why Choose the 7A IR PTZ over the 6A
Both the 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs share the same 1/1.8" DarkFighter 2.0 sensor, the same 36× optical zoom, the same 150 dB AWDR and the same on-camera deep-learning AI stack. The deciding question is how dark the scene actually gets at the far end of the zoom range. The 7A's built-in 300 m IR illuminator is the difference-maker: it lights an entire perimeter wall, dark haul road or rural property boundary at full telephoto, in zero ambient light. If the scene has streetlights, dock lighting or moonlight, the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 alone is enough. If the scene is genuinely dark, the 7A is what gets the shot.
300 m IR — Zero-Light Identification
Smart IR illumination out to 300 m at 850 nm wavelength. The IR LED array is matched to the 36× zoom optics — at telephoto, the beam tightens with the zoom to keep target illumination consistent across the working range.
36× Optical Zoom · F1.2 · 6–216 mm
The same long-zoom lens as the 6A — but here paired with the IR ring for completely dark scenes. Identify at 297.9 m tele (EN 62676-4), recognise at 595.9 m, detect to 2,979 m.
DarkFighter 2.0 + 150 dB AWDR
Same sensor and same wide-dynamic-range as the 6A — 0.0003 lux colour, 0.0001 lux monochrome, 150 dB AWDR. At dawn / dusk / mixed lighting the camera produces colour and switches to IR-aided monochrome only when needed.
550°/s Pan · 300°/s Tilt
Pan preset speed up to 550°/s (max 700°/s), tilt to 300°/s. Faster than the 6A's 300°/s — important for incident response on big sites where the camera has to swing from one preset to a diagonally-opposite one in well under a second.
Smart Pan-Tilt Correction + Gyroscope EIS
Smart Pan-Tilt Correction automatically compensates for mechanical drift over time, keeping presets accurate to the original setpoint. Combined with the built-in gyroscope EIS, the image stays steady on tall pole mounts in coastal wind.
Lighter, Smaller, IR-Equipped
At 5 kg and ⌀ 215 × 297 mm, the 7A is actually smaller and lighter than the 6A (6 kg / ⌀ 231 × 356 mm) despite adding the IR LED ring — Hikvision re-engineered the optical assembly to gain the IR without growing the camera body.
Important Install Note — PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) or 36 VDC
The 7A IR PTZ does not run on standard PoE+ (802.3at, 25.5 W) or even Hi-PoE 60 W. Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W on either 36 VDC or PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 — the camera reserves 6.4 W for IR, 8 W for the heater and 52 W for the camera body. Standardise on one of the following:
PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 injector or switch on the camera's network run — provides the full 90 W via single Cat 6 cable, the simplest install.
36 VDC dedicated supply at the camera — used where you're running fibre to the camera or where you prefer to feed power separately from the data drop.
Standard PoE+ switches (15 W or 25.5 W class) will not reliably power this camera, especially when the IR ring and heater are both active in cold weather. Contact our Australian team for the right 90 W PoE++ injector or 36 VDC supply for your install.
On-Camera Deep-Learning AI
The 7A PTZ runs Hikvision's deep-learning engine on the camera itself, classifying objects and triggering only on the targets that matter. The full AI stack is identical to the 6A sibling — the 7A's value-add is purely the IR illuminator for dark scenes.
Perimeter Protection
Line crossing, region entrance, intrusion and region exiting detection — each filtered by target type (human / vehicle) to suppress nuisance alarms from rain, foliage, animals and headlight glare.
Multi-Target-Type Detection
Simultaneous detection across three target classes with rich feature extraction: face (7 features), human (14 features) and vehicle (8 features). Feeds searchable metadata into your NVR for fast post-incident review.
Face Capture — 30 Simultaneous
Detects up to 30 faces in frame, grades face quality, and uploads the best frame plus context. Useful at port gates, mining-camp entry points and large-venue access control.
Face Comparison — 150,000 Total
10 face libraries × 30,000 faces = 150,000 total with encrypted on-camera storage — enterprise-scale watchlist comparison without a separate face server.
Smart Tracking 3.0 — Auto-Follow
Locks onto detected human or vehicle targets and pans / tilts / zooms automatically to keep them framed. Person arming mode flags specific faces or human IDs that trigger alarms plus tracking when detected.
Audio & Behaviour Events
Audio exception detection, video tampering, vandal-proof alarm, scene change, unattended baggage and object removal detection — useful for unmanned dock aprons, rail-yard sidings and large-venue overwatch.
Pan / Tilt / Zoom — Faster Kinematics for Incident Response
360° Continuous Pan · 550°/s Preset
360° continuous pan with preset speed up to 550°/s (max 700°/s) — the camera moves from a preset on one side of the site to the opposite-side preset in well under a second.
Tilt −20° to +90° · Auto-Flip
Tilt range from −20° (below horizon, useful for tall-pole overviews of the ground below) to +90° with auto-flip support for tracking a target straight under the dome.
300 Presets · 8 Patrols
300 presets per camera, 8 patrol routes with up to 32 presets each. Schedule the camera to walk a perimeter route automatically every shift change.
3D Positioning · Power-Off Memory
Click any target on the live image to centre-frame and zoom in one motion. Power-off memory returns the camera to its previous orientation after a brown-out.
Smart Pan-Tilt Correction
The PTZ self-corrects mechanical drift over time, keeping presets accurate to their original setpoint without manual re-calibration.
Built-in Gyroscope EIS
The gyroscope drives electronic image stabilisation — critical for tall pole installs in coastal wind, where mount vibration would otherwise blur the image and confuse the AI engine.

DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) vs DS-2DF6A436XG1-EL(Y) — Built-in IR or Ambient-Light Only?
The 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs are essentially the same camera with one decisive difference: the 7A has a built-in 300 m IR illuminator; the 6A does not. Everything else — sensor, zoom, WDR, low-light spec, deep-learning AI, face capture, face comparison, auto-tracking, IP/IK protection, cyber-security baseline — is essentially identical. The 7A is also faster (550°/s pan vs 300°/s on the 6A) and surprisingly lighter (5 kg vs 6 kg). The cost of the IR ring is more power — the 7A needs PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) vs the 6A's Hi-PoE (60 W class).

Best For
Completely dark long-range sites: rural property boundaries, dark mining haul roads, unlit power-station and substation yards, river / forest / scenic-spot overwatch, unlit perimeter walls. The 300 m IR array unlocks identification at full telephoto in zero ambient light.
Ambient-lit Australian sites: lit carparks, port aprons under dock lighting, council CBDs, school perimeters with security lighting, marinas with mast lighting. Lighter on power, still uses DarkFighter 2.0 for very low light.

PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) Injector / Switch
Required if you're not powering the camera from a separate 36 VDC supply. Make sure the injector or switch is genuinely Type 4 Class 8 (90 W) — standard PoE+ (25.5 W) and Hi-PoE (60 W) will not reliably power this camera with IR active. Contact our Australian team for the right injector.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the "-Y" suffix mean and which variant do you stock?
The -Y suffix indicates Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated, designed for coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline and areas affected by acid rain. We stock the DS-2DF7A436IXG-ELY (with -Y) as our Australian default. The base DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL (no -Y) has "no specific anti-corrosion protection" per the datasheet — we don't stock it.
How does the 300 m IR work — does it light the full 300 m at wide-angle?
The IR illumination range scales with the zoom. At full telephoto, the IR beam tightens and reaches up to 300 m with the smart-IR supplement adjusting intensity to avoid over-exposing close-range targets. At wide-angle, the beam spreads to cover the wider field of view at a shorter effective distance. The combination keeps target illumination consistent across the zoom range.
Why doesn't it run on standard PoE+ or Hi-PoE?
Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W. Standard PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) tops out at 25.5 W, and Hi-PoE (60 W class) doesn't have the headroom for the IR ring at full output. The camera requires PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 (90 W) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply.
Should I buy the 7A or the 6A sibling?
If the scene has any reasonable ambient lighting at night (streetlights, dock lights, security floodlights, mast lighting, moonlight) the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 sensor alone is enough — and you'll save on the 90 W power chain. Choose the 7A specifically for genuinely dark long-range sites: rural property boundaries, dark mining haul roads, unlit power-station yards, scenic-spot and river overwatch. Compare side-by-side: DS-2DF6A436XG1-EL(Y) →
Does it support number-plate recognition (ANPR)?
This is not marketed as an ANPR camera. The 7A PTZ is built for long-range surveillance, perimeter protection and auto-tracking. For on-camera number-plate recognition, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet — for example the iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY with its purpose-built LPR engine and 10,000-record plate database.
How far away can the camera identify a target?
Per EN 62676-4 criteria at full telephoto: Detect 2,979 m · Observe 1,182 m · Recognise 596 m · Identify 297.9 m. "Identify" means the image is detailed enough to recognise a specific individual — that's a usable working distance for almost any large-site security application. Detection extends nearly 3 km.
How does Smart Pan-Tilt Correction work?
Over thousands of pan/tilt cycles, mechanical drift can shift preset positions by a few degrees from their original setpoints. Smart Pan-Tilt Correction measures and compensates for that drift automatically, keeping all presets accurate to the original setpoint without manual re-calibration — important for unmanned sites where a technician can't easily re-set presets in person.
Is this NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Hikvision is subject to NDAA Section 889 restrictions in the United States. For NDAA-compliant long-range PTZ projects (typically US federally-funded), we stock alternative brands — please contact our team for a recommendation. For Australian commercial, council, port-authority, private and most state-government projects without an NDAA contractual requirement, this camera is freely usable.
Will the camera record locally if the NVR drops?
Yes. microSD up to 1 TB — when the network link to the NVR drops, the camera continues writing locally and the footage is available for retrieval once the link returns.
What's the warranty and where is it serviced?
This camera ships with a 3-year Australian Hikvision warranty, serviced back-to-base through Hikvision Australia. CCTV Guru manages the entire RA process from our Sydney office and provides Australian-based pre-sales and technical support for the life of the product.
Do you ship Australia-wide and is stock genuine?
Yes — Australian stock from authorised Hikvision Australia channels (not parallel imports). We ship Australia-wide every business day with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2 pm AEST to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Darwin and regional addresses.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 32 Channel · 24 PoE
The Hikvision DS-7732NI-M4/24P is a 32-channel 8K Network Video Recorder built for serious Australian sites — large factories, multi-building campuses, schools, hotels, car yards, logistics centres and high-end residential estates. The standout feature: 24 built-in PoE ports — eight more than the standard 16-PoE model — so you can power and connect up to 24 cameras directly from the recorder without needing an extra PoE switch. The remaining 8 channels accept IP cameras from your wider network for ANPR, panoramic, fisheye or third-party ONVIF models.
Four internal SATA bays accept up to 16 TB drives each (64 TB total), delivering months of continuous 24/7 recording even with all 32 channels at full 4K. AcuSense-ready firmware adds deep-learning human and vehicle classification, line-crossing, intrusion detection and perimeter protection across every channel — drastically reducing nuisance alerts and turning multi-day playback searches into seconds.

Why 24 PoE ports change the install economics
On a typical 32-channel site, you'd usually need the NVR plus a separate 24-port managed PoE switch — that's another rack unit, another power supply, another point of failure, and another piece of hardware to commission and document. The DS-7732NI-M4/24P collapses all of that into a single 1.5U chassis. Your installer plugs up to 24 cameras directly into the back of the recorder via Cat6 (up to 100 m runs), and the NVR handles power, data and discovery automatically. Faster install, fewer parts, lower total cost of ownership.
24 PoE Ports Built-In
Power and data over a single Cat6 run to 24 cameras, up to 100 m. IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant with a generous 210 W total PoE budget (max 30 W per port) — enough for a full perimeter without an extra PoE switch.
True 32-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, the NVR runs deep-learning human and vehicle classification across all 32 channels — filtering false alarms from leaves, animals and shadows.
Quad-SATA, 64 TB Capacity
Four internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering month-long retention even with all 32 cameras at full 4K H.265+.
320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Designed to run a full deployment of 4K ColorVu, AcuSense and PanoVu cameras simultaneously — without the bottlenecks of lower-tier NVRs.
IP Speaker Integration
Connect up to 8 Hikvision IP speakers for two-way audio warnings, scheduled announcements or live security-officer talk-down — directly from the NVR.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the 24-PoE version over the 16-PoE model?
If your site needs to power more than 16 cameras directly from the NVR — typical for large warehouses, retail, multi-floor offices, schools and gated estates — the 24-PoE version saves you the cost and complexity of adding a separate PoE switch.
How does it handle 32 cameras with only 24 PoE ports?
Twenty-four cameras connect directly to the NVR's onboard PoE ports for power + data. The remaining 8 channels accept IP cameras from your wider network — either powered by an external PoE switch or by their own power supplies.
Does the DS-7732NI-M4/24P come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple surveillance drives from 4 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your configuration at checkout.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — the 1.5U chassis is compatible with optional rack-mount ears for standard 19" racks. Order the rack-mount kit alongside the NVR if required.
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 4 SATA bays — letting you balance storage capacity, redundancy and performance for your site.
Do you ship to my city?
We ship Australia-wide from our local warehouse — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin — with most metro orders arriving in 1–3 business days.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 32 Channel · 2U Enterprise
The Hikvision DS-9632NI-M8 is a 32-channel 2U enterprise Network Video Recorder — the right-sized choice for medium-to-large Australian sites that need the full enterprise feature set (RAID, hot spare, dual HDMI, dual VGA, rack mount) without the rack space or storage overhead of a 3U chassis. Schools, mid-sized hotels, warehouses, distribution centres, retail chains and multi-tenant offices that run 24-32 cameras and need a recorder built for 24/7 reliability.
This is a non-PoE enterprise chassis — designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone (or non-PoE camera infrastructure like fibre, wireless backhaul or third-party power injectors). Pair the M8 with your existing switching infrastructure and let it handle recording, AI processing, multi-monitor display and RAID redundancy for all 32 channels in a compact 2U footprint.

Enterprise reliability in a compact 2U footprint
The DS-9632NI-M8 hits the sweet spot for sites that need real enterprise features — RAID, hot spare, redundant network, multi-monitor outputs, rack mounting — but don't need the 256 TB storage or 64-channel scale of the larger M16 chassis. At 2U high and 442 mm wide, it slots cleanly into a comms rack or AV cabinet without dominating it. Up to 128 TB of internal storage across 8 SATA bays gives you 3 months of continuous 4K retention for a typical 32-channel deployment — well beyond most compliance and insurance requirements.
32-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
128 TB Storage Capacity
Eight internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering 3+ months of continuous 4K retention across all 32 cameras.
RAID 0/1/5/6/10 + N+M Hot Spare
Configure full RAID across the 8 SATA bays, plus N+M hot-spare drives that automatically take over if a working drive fails — zero operator intervention, zero footage loss.
Dual HDMI + Dual VGA
Four independent display outputs — HDMI 1 drives a true 8K monitor, HDMI 2 a 4K monitor, plus two independent VGA workstations. Perfect for multi-operator 24/7 control rooms.
320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Comfortably runs all 32 channels at full 4K H.265+ simultaneously — generous bandwidth headroom per camera, so you can fit higher-bitrate streams without compromise.
ANPR, People Counting & Fisheye
Native support for specialty cameras — ANPR for entry/exit gates, people counting for retail or building occupancy, and fisheye / panoramic for wide-area coverage.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the M8 and the DS-9632NI-M16?
Same 32 channels, same 320 Mbps bandwidth. The M16 has double the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the maximum storage (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis. Choose the M8 for normal retention needs and tight rack space; choose the M16 if you need 6–12 months of 4K retention.
Why choose this over a PoE NVR like the DS-7732NI-M4/24P?
The DS-7732NI-M4/24P has 24 built-in PoE ports, which is ideal for greenfield small-to-medium sites. The DS-9632NI-M8 has no PoE but offers 8 SATA bays (vs 4), RAID + N+M hot spare, dual HDMI + dual VGA, dual Ethernet and an enterprise 2U chassis — better for sites that already have managed PoE switches and need real enterprise features.
Is there a redundant-power version available?
Yes — the DS-9632NI-M8/R has dual hot-swappable PSUs for sites where power redundancy is mandatory (data centres, critical infrastructure, government). Contact our Australian team if you need the /R variant.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted enterprise surveillance drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout.
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 8 SATA bays, plus N+M hot spare. For most enterprise deployments we recommend RAID 5 (single drive redundancy) or RAID 6 (dual drive redundancy).
Do you ship to my city?
We ship Australia-wide from our local warehouse — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin — with most metro orders arriving in 1–3 business days. Larger enterprise orders shipped by carrier with tracking and signature.

Why this 32-channel NVR is built for large-site security
When 16 cameras aren't enough — and a rack-mount enterprise recorder is overkill — the DS-7732NI-M4/16P sits exactly in the middle. Sixteen onboard PoE ports remove the need for an extra PoE switch on the critical 16 cameras, and another 16 channels are free to add ANPR, panoramic, fisheye, thermal or third-party ONVIF cameras across your network. With 320 Mbps incoming bandwidth and 4 × SATA bays, this NVR is designed for projects where downtime is unacceptable and footage retention is measured in months, not days.
16 PoE Ports Built-In

Quad-SATA, 64 TB Capacity
Four internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering month-long retention even with all 32 cameras at full 4K H.265+.
320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth

Why this 16-channel NVR is the right choice for serious sites
Where the 8-channel models stop, the DS-7616NI-M2/16P keeps going. Sixteen built-in PoE ports mean you can power and connect every camera directly from the recorder — no extra PoE switches, no extra failure points. Combined with 256 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, you can run a full deployment of 4K ColorVu, AcuSense and PanoVu cameras simultaneously without throttling resolution or frame rate.
True 32 MP Per Channel
Every one of the 16 channels supports cameras up to 32 MP — the highest tier in any plug-and-play NVR — so you can mix PanoVu, fisheye and 4K+ AcuSense models freely.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, deep-learning algorithms classify humans and vehicles in real time, filtering nuisance alerts and turning playback searches into seconds.
16 PoE Ports Built-In
Power and data over a single Cat6 run to each camera, up to 100 m. IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant — plug your cameras in and they appear automatically. Zero extra hardware.
Dual-SATA, 32 TB Capacity
Two internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering long-duration 24/7 recording even with all 16 channels at full 4K.
8K HDMI Display Output
Drive an 8K (7680 × 4320) monitor at 30 Hz, or a 4K display at 60 Hz, plus a secondary VGA output for a second workstation view in your control room.
H.265+ Smart Compression
Hikvision's H.265+ codec reduces bitrate by up to 75% compared to H.264 — meaning more days of footage on the same drive, or the same retention on a smaller drive.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DS-7616NI-M2/16P come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple surveillance drives from 2 TB to 16 TB — choose your preferred capacity at checkout.
Will it work with non-Hikvision cameras?
Yes. The NVR is ONVIF compliant and works with most third-party ONVIF IP cameras. For full AcuSense smart features you'll need genuine Hikvision AcuSense-compatible cameras.
Can I view all 16 channels on my phone?
Yes — set up Hik-Connect on iOS or Android for free remote live view, multi-channel grid playback and motion alerts. No port forwarding required.
What's the PoE power budget?
The NVR delivers up to 200 W total across the 16 PoE ports, with up to 30 W per port (Hi-PoE). That's enough to drive 16 standard PoE cameras simultaneously.
How many days of recording will I get?
At full 4K H.265+ across all 16 channels with 24/7 recording, expect roughly 4–6 days per 8 TB drive. Motion-only recording typically triples that figure.
Do you ship to my city?
We ship Australia-wide from our local warehouse — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin — with most metro orders arriving in 1–3 business days.

Why Australian installers choose the DS-7608NI-M2/8P
The M2/8P sits at the sweet spot for small-to-medium IP camera deployments: enough PoE ports for a complete 8-camera build, enough bandwidth for the latest 4K and 4K+ ColorVu cameras, and enough decoding muscle to display 2 × 32 MP streams simultaneously on a single 8K monitor. It's a future-proof recorder you won't outgrow on the next camera upgrade.
True 32 MP Input Support
Record every channel at up to 32 MP — the highest resolution tier supported in any consumer-grade NVR — so you can deploy Hikvision PanoVu, fisheye and 4K+ AcuSense cameras without throttling.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, the NVR runs deep-learning human and vehicle classification to filter out leaves, animals and shadows — slashing false alarms and making playback searches almost instant.
8 PoE Ports Built-In
Power and data over a single Cat6 run to each camera, up to 100 m. IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant with auto-detection — plug your cameras in and they appear automatically.
Dual-SATA, 32 TB Capacity
Two internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, giving you long-duration 24/7 recording even at full 4K bitrates.
8K HDMI Display Output
Drive an 8K (7680 × 4320) monitor at 30 Hz, or a 4K display at 60 Hz, plus a secondary VGA output for a second workstation view in your control room.
H.265+ Smart Compression
Hikvision's H.265+ codec reduces bitrate by up to 75% compared to H.264 — that means more days of footage on the same drive, or the same retention on a smaller drive.

WizMind · 6-Series Flagship · 128-Channel · 8-HDD · 2U
The Dahua DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ is the 128-channel enterprise flagship of Dahua's WizMind range — an Ultra-series AI NVR engineered for the largest single-recorder deployments. AcuPick now runs across up to 64 channels simultaneously (double the smaller 608H-32), the AI by Recorder workload includes 8-channel face detection with a 40-database, 300,000-image face library, and total recording bandwidth scales to 1280 Mbps incoming / 1024 Mbps outgoing. Eight SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and drawer-style hot-swap deliver up to 128 TB on-board; iSCSI and eSATA take you well beyond that.
This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's a headend NVR with no built-in PoE — cameras connect via your managed network and PoE switch stack. Internal 100–240 VAC universal PSU, AS/NZS-compliant kettle cord, and a local 5-year warranty backed by CCTV Guru in Sydney. Built for shopping centres, transport hubs, hospitals, universities, casinos, large carparks and any single-site deployment that needs the maximum 128-camera ceiling on one recorder.

Face Database
40 DBs · 300,000 images · 48 GB
AcuPick on up to 64 channels
Twice the AcuPick capacity of the smaller 608H-32. Click any person or vehicle in recorded video, and the NVR scans the active 64 channels for matches across hours, days or weeks — clothing colour, body shape, vehicle make / model / colour / direction included.
Face Recognition at scale
8 NVR-side face detection channels feeding face recognition against a 40-database, 300,000-image library. Or 20 channels of camera-side detection + NVR-side recognition at 20 face snapshots/sec — large enough for staff registers, watchlists and visitor logs combined.
Perimeter Protection (32 ch by NVR)
32 NVR-side channels of tripwire and intrusion analytics (10 IVS rules each) — 8× the 5-Series capacity. Plus all-channel perimeter via camera-side processing — every camera benefits from human/vehicle classification.
SMD Plus on 32 channels by NVR
The AI chip's full SMD Plus capacity — 32 NVR-side channels of deep-learning second-pass classification, classifying targets as person or vehicle so only real events make it to your phone or VMS.
Video Metadata by NVR (8 channels)
NVR-side metadata extraction — top colour, bottom colour, hat, bag, umbrella, gender, age, vehicle make / model / colour / plate, helmet wear. Works regardless of camera brand (camera-side metadata requires Dahua WizSense or WizMind IPCs).
ANPR by camera (32 channels)
Pair with Dahua ANPR cameras for 32 channels of licence-plate recognition feeding a 20,000-plate database with blocklist / allowlist control. Carpark, fleet yard, toll-point and multi-site ANPR.

1280 Mbps recording bandwidth
Higher than any other 5-Series or smaller 6-Series sibling. Spread across 128 cameras, plan for ~10 Mbps per camera average — perfect for 4 MP H.265+ on motion-record. For higher-bitrate workloads, prioritise the high-traffic channels and reserve the rest for lower-resolution sub-streams.
32-channel 1080p decoding
The decoder handles 32 cameras at 1080p simultaneously for the live wall, or 2 × 32 MP @ 30 fps for the highest-res cameras. Reserve high-resolution decoding for the channels you actually display.
4× HDMI + 2× VGA outputs
Drive up to six independent displays. HDMI3 supports 8K display; HDMI1 / HDMI2 deliver 4K each. Heterogeneous mode lets each HDMI run an independent layout — ideal for control rooms with multi-monitor walls.
8 SATA bays · drawer hot-swap
Eight surveillance-grade HDDs (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) up to 16 TB each in a drawer-style chassis — swap drives during operation without taking the recorder down. Total ~128 TB on-board.
Hardware RAID 0/1/5/6/10
Survive single-drive (RAID 5) or dual-drive (RAID 6) failures with zero footage loss. RAID 10 for performance + redundancy. Rebuilds run in the background while recording continues.
eSATA + iSCSI + ESS1504C expansion
External SATA archive port, iSCSI network storage, plus optional Dahua ESS1504C 4-HDD eSATA storage tray — essential for the long-retention workloads that 128-camera sites typically require.

Enterprise I/O — 2.5 GbE dual NIC, 16 alarm-in, hot-swap chassis
Dual 2.5 Gigabit NICs
Two independent RJ-45 ports running at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps — 2.5× faster than the gigabit NICs on the 5-Series. Bondable for multi-address, load-balance and fault-tolerance modes (critical at 128-camera scale).
16 alarm-in / 8 alarm-out
Physical terminal block for 16 alarm inputs and 8 alarm outputs — wire in PIRs, door sensors, glass-break detectors, panic buttons, sirens or gate triggers for hardware-level event linkage.
4 × USB (2 × 2.0 + 2 × 3.0)
Two front USB 2.0 plus two rear USB 3.0 ports — plug in backup drives, USB mice, keyboards or service tools without juggling cables behind the rack.
RS-232 + RS-485
One RS-232 plus one RS-485 (A/B) — integrate with POS systems, gate controllers, access control panels, PTZ joysticks or third-party VMS that need legacy serial.
N+M cluster failover
Pair multiple 6-Series NVRs in an N+M cluster — backup recorders automatically take over if a primary fails, ensuring zero footage loss. Particularly important at 128-camera scale where a single-recorder outage would breach SLA.
ONVIF (T / S / G) + DSS Pro
Full ONVIF profile support plus Dahua's DSS Pro VMS for multi-site centralised control. Native integration with Sony, Axis, Pelco, Arecont, Canon, Samsung and any ONVIF-compliant camera.
NVR608H-128 vs the family — how it compares
The 608H-128 (this model) is the maximum channel-count single recorder in Dahua's AU/NZ NVR range — four times the channels of the 608H-32 sibling with twice the AcuPick capacity and 25% higher recording bandwidth. Choose this when you need every camera on one recorder. For sites running 32 cameras or fewer with the same WizMind feature depth, step down to the 608H-32.

Frequently asked questions
What's the real difference between the 608H-128 and the 608H-32?
Same hardware platform — same 2U chassis with 8 HDD bays, same WizMind AI processor, same dual 2.5 GbE NICs, same 4 × HDMI outputs (including the 8K port). The differences are the IP channel licence (128 vs 32) and the AcuPick capacity (64 channels vs 32). At 128 channels, the recording bandwidth (1280 Mbps) is shared across four times as many cameras, so plan camera resolutions accordingly — 4 MP H.265+ is the sweet spot.
Does the WizMind series get a longer warranty?
Yes — WizMind 6-Series enterprise NVRs ship with a 5-year warranty in Australia, two years longer than the 3-year warranty on Dahua's WizSense (4-Series and 5-Series) products. The longer cover reflects the project-grade build and is part of why WizMind units carry a premium over WizSense.
Why does AcuPick only run on 64 channels when the NVR supports 128?
AcuPick is heavy on AI-chip resources — running attribute extraction and image-search against 128 channels simultaneously isn't possible on the current 6-Series silicon. You choose which 64 of the 128 channels run AcuPick (the rest still record, and still get ANPR / SMD Plus / perimeter via camera-side AI on Dahua WizSense or WizMind IPCs).
Why doesn't it have built-in PoE?
The 6-Series is purpose-built for enterprise headend deployments. 128 cameras through built-in PoE ports would mean a 4U+ chassis with extreme power draw. At this scale, sites always have a managed switching layer — pair this NVR with a stack of 24 or 48-port managed PoE+ switches across two or more network closets.
How big a PoE switch stack do I need for 128 cameras?
Allow about 7–15 W per camera for Dahua WizSense bullets/turrets, more for active-deterrence and PTZ cameras. Three 48-port PoE+ switches with ~370–500 W each will run 128 typical cameras comfortably, with spare ports for VoIP and APs. CCTV Guru can quote a complete switch + NVR + camera bundle.
How much storage do I need for 128 cameras at 30 days retention?
For 128 × 4 MP cameras at H.265+ on motion-record, expect ~80–110 TB for 30 days. Eight 16 TB surveillance-grade drives (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) in RAID 5 gives ~112 TB usable — exactly the right size with single-disk redundancy. For longer retention or higher resolution, add the ESS1504C eSATA expansion tray or use iSCSI to a NAS.
Is the DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 444 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.4 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives. The drawer-style HDD bays support hot-swapping, so you can replace failed drives without unmounting the chassis from the rack.
