The built-in microphone supports two-way audio talk-back enabling conversations with people near the speaker. And, with an intuitive web interface, it’s easy to set rules to trigger events. Plus, Modbus sensor ports let you integrate environmental sensors such as temperature and humidity sensors.

Based on a modular system architecture, this I/O and relay module lets you customize I/O capabilities to suit your specific needs. Based on open standards, AXIS C1211-E offers easy integration for instance with your video management software (VMS), with Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony (using SIP), and with analytics from Axis and our partners. Axis network speakers connect to your standard network and use one network cable for both power and connectivity (Power over Ethernet). With everything in one solution, installed on one network, there’s no need for additional audio equipment or cabling, and it’s easy to add or remove speakers. This enables more flexible, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. The bottom line? AXIS C1211-E offers a future-proof solution that follows your business needs and gives you the flexibility and possibility needed to quickly respond to future changes.
Smart features at the edge
This all-in-one ceiling speaker is packed with smart features to ensure great performance. With support for I/O, it enables various use cases when integrated with other systems and devices such as PIR sensors, buttons, strobe lights, and more. It features a preconfigured digital signal processor (DSP) to produce clear voice every time. And the built-in microphone supports two-way audio talk-back enabling conversations with people near the speaker. It also supports speaker-test functionality for remote health testing – so you can rest assured that your system is working. Plus, thanks to external microphone input, you can connect an additional microphone that can be used in situations where the speaker is installed far from the audience.
Another smart feature is the built-in and clearly visible LED which adds visual status information ideal for many different use cases.
In addition, our AXIS Audio Manager Edge application comes built-in to let you efficiently manage and control your audio system. It includes functionalities such as zone management and scheduling of content. And you can prioritize content so that live voice messages always take priority – ensuring that critical information like emergency announcements and paging is always delivered promptly. If you need to coordinate audio across different sites, a standard version of our multisite management software, AXIS Audio Manager Center, is available free of charge.
Multipurpose speaker
AXIS C1211-E makes audio announcements smart and easy. This speaker lets you mix live or prerecorded announcements to suit various needs. You can also play background music, helping to increase business efficiency and customer experience. And, thanks to embedded AXIS Audio Manager Edge, you can manage and control your audio system via any standard web browser either locally or remotely. You can use the same system to deliver warnings and crucial safety instructions helping to keep people safe, and to proactively warn off intruders from remote locations with live or prerecorded messages.
Discreet ceiling installation
Ideal for delivering voice announcements on your premises, AXIS C1211-E offers discreet recessed ceiling installation. Designed to blend seamlessly into any surroundings, it can be repainted in any color. This compact device features a backbox that meets plenum requirements allowing for secure installation and helping to limit unwanted noise spreading above the ceiling into other areas. AXIS C1211-E is ideal for indoor installation across various segments such as retail and offices. It can also be used in protected outdoor areas like under the eaves.

Ethernet has a limited cable length between the switch and the camera of 100m (328 ft.). When needed to cover a longer distance, a switch is normally used as a repeater, or optical fiber may be used. To overcome this distance limit, network installers can simply connect an AXIS T8129 PoE Extender in-line with the Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable, and forward the rest to the camera. Dependent on midspan and camera type, the connection in total can be between 200-400 meters (656-1312 ft.).

Compatibility
AXIS T8129 PoE Extender is compatible with all Axis network video products with PoE, and supports both IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. Check in the Typical set-up section for connection examples with Axis network video products.
Range
Range depends on the power required, so a 25 watt PTZ dome camera may be located 200 m (656 ft.) away using a single AXIS T8129. Or, the cable length to a regular 5 watt network camera may extend up to 400 m (1312 ft.), by fitting three AXIS T8129 at 100 m (328 ft.) intervals. Check in the Range tab for information about Maximum distances.
The table below shows the maximum distances from the network switch depending on power source, by adding an Axis PoE Extender for every 100m (328ft). The actual figures will depend on operating conditions. The range is over 24AWG (or heavier) CAT5e or CAT6 cable except where specified:

No additional power supply
AXIS T8129 does not require any additional power supply and the connected network camera is fed by a single PoE switch or midspan. It offers two female Ethernet ports, which are both configured automatically for link speed, duplex and crossover and the full-rate network throughput is maintained.
