2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS Routing
Full signature-based IDS/IPS threat detection at 2.3 Gbps — making it ideal for sites with high-speed NBN, fibre, or multi-WAN connections that need next-gen security without a throughput bottleneck.
Full 2.5 Gigabit on All Ports
All five ports run at 2.5 GbE (2.5G/1G/100M/10M) — future-proofing your network for multi-gig ISP connections and 2.5G switches or APs without any bottleneck at the gateway.
Multi-WAN — Up to 4 WAN Ports
Remap LAN ports to WAN to support multi-WAN failover and load balancing (max 4 WAN) — keeping your network online even if one ISP connection drops. UniFi LTE Backup adds an extra failover path.
WireGuard, OpenVPN, L2TP & IPsec
Built-in WireGuard and OpenVPN VPN servers, L2TP, OpenVPN/WireGuard VPN client, IPsec and Site Magic site-to-site VPN, plus one-click Teleport zero-config VPN — all licence-free.
Licence-Free SD-WAN & Dynamic Routing
Policy-based WAN/VPN routing, OSPF dynamic routing, advanced QoS, advanced NAT, integrated RADIUS server, and RadSec — all included at no extra cost.
Next-Gen Zone-Based Firewall
Stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 firewall, DPI and traffic identification, content filtering, region/domain/app filtering, ad blocking, and 55,000+ IPS signatures with CyberSecure.
USB-C Powered — 9.6W Max
Powered by the included USB-C adapter (5V/3A) drawing just 9.6W maximum — silent, fanless, and suitable for any location including a small comms cabinet or behind a desk.
NDAA Compliant
Fully NDAA Section 889 compliant for government, defence, and security-sensitive installations where supply-chain integrity is a requirement.
Choose UXG-Max if you need…
Multi-gig (2.5G) throughput, 2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS performance, multi-WAN failover, or a future-proof gateway for high-speed NBN/fibre connections. Best for growing SMBs and multi-WAN sites.
Choose UXG-Lite if you need…
A budget-friendly, ultra-compact gateway for standard Gigabit connections. Best for home networks and small offices where 1G throughput is sufficient and cost is a priority.
Small to Medium Business
High-speed NBN or fibre connections with multi-WAN failover, IDS/IPS, and VPN for offices, retail stores, and professional services firms across Australia.
Advanced Home Networks
Power users who want 2.5G throughput, IDS/IPS, and WireGuard VPN in a compact, silent, USB-C powered device.
Multi-WAN & Failover
Sites requiring multi-WAN failover or load balancing across ISP connections — remap LAN ports to WAN for true redundancy, with UniFi LTE Backup as an additional path.
UXG-Lite Upgrade
The natural upgrade from the UXG-Lite for sites that have outgrown Gigabit throughput or need multi-WAN and higher IDS/IPS performance.
UXG-Max Unit
Compact multi-WAN 2.5G UniFi security gateway with 5 × 2.5GbE RJ45 ports.
USB-C Power Adapter
USB Type-C power adapter (5V/3A, 100–240V) included.
Quick-Start Guide
Installation guide and documentation included.
Controller Required
Requires UniFi Network 8.1.113+ on a Cloud Key, UniFi OS Console, or Official UniFi Hosting. Not a standalone device.
Does the UXG-Max work as a standalone router?
No. The UXG-Max requires a UniFi Network controller (Cloud Key, UniFi OS Console, or Official UniFi Hosting running version 8.1.113 or later) to function.
What is the difference between the UXG-Max and UXG-Lite?
The UXG-Max has 2.5G ports on all interfaces, 2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput, multi-WAN capability via remappable LAN ports, and 2GB RAM. The UXG-Lite has 1G ports and lower IDS/IPS throughput, but is more affordable for standard Gigabit deployments.
Can the UXG-Max do multi-WAN failover?
Yes. LAN ports can be remapped to WAN (up to 4 WAN), enabling multi-WAN failover and load balancing across ISP connections, with optional UniFi LTE Backup.
Does it support VPN?
Yes. WireGuard, OpenVPN server/client, L2TP, IPsec, Site Magic site-to-site, and Teleport zero-config VPN are all supported with no additional licensing fees.
Is it suitable for high-speed NBN or fibre connections?
Yes. With 2.5G ports and 2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput, the UXG-Max handles multi-gig ISP connections without bottlenecking your network — ideal for 1 Gbps+ NBN or fibre plans.
Does it have Wi-Fi?
No. The UXG-Max is a wired gateway only. For Wi-Fi, pair it with UniFi Access Points managed through the same UniFi Network controller.
