WizMind · 6-Series Flagship · 128-Channel · 8-HDD · 2U
The Dahua DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ is the 128-channel enterprise flagship of Dahua's WizMind range — an Ultra-series AI NVR engineered for the largest single-recorder deployments. AcuPick now runs across up to 64 channels simultaneously (double the smaller 608H-32), the AI by Recorder workload includes 8-channel face detection with a 40-database, 300,000-image face library, and total recording bandwidth scales to 1280 Mbps incoming / 1024 Mbps outgoing. Eight SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and drawer-style hot-swap deliver up to 128 TB on-board; iSCSI and eSATA take you well beyond that.
This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's a headend NVR with no built-in PoE — cameras connect via your managed network and PoE switch stack. Internal 100–240 VAC universal PSU, AS/NZS-compliant kettle cord, and a local 5-year warranty backed by CCTV Guru in Sydney. Built for shopping centres, transport hubs, hospitals, universities, casinos, large carparks and any single-site deployment that needs the maximum 128-camera ceiling on one recorder.

Face Database
40 DBs · 300,000 images · 48 GB
AcuPick on up to 64 channels
Twice the AcuPick capacity of the smaller 608H-32. Click any person or vehicle in recorded video, and the NVR scans the active 64 channels for matches across hours, days or weeks — clothing colour, body shape, vehicle make / model / colour / direction included.
Face Recognition at scale
8 NVR-side face detection channels feeding face recognition against a 40-database, 300,000-image library. Or 20 channels of camera-side detection + NVR-side recognition at 20 face snapshots/sec — large enough for staff registers, watchlists and visitor logs combined.
Perimeter Protection (32 ch by NVR)
32 NVR-side channels of tripwire and intrusion analytics (10 IVS rules each) — 8× the 5-Series capacity. Plus all-channel perimeter via camera-side processing — every camera benefits from human/vehicle classification.
SMD Plus on 32 channels by NVR
The AI chip's full SMD Plus capacity — 32 NVR-side channels of deep-learning second-pass classification, classifying targets as person or vehicle so only real events make it to your phone or VMS.
Video Metadata by NVR (8 channels)
NVR-side metadata extraction — top colour, bottom colour, hat, bag, umbrella, gender, age, vehicle make / model / colour / plate, helmet wear. Works regardless of camera brand (camera-side metadata requires Dahua WizSense or WizMind IPCs).
ANPR by camera (32 channels)
Pair with Dahua ANPR cameras for 32 channels of licence-plate recognition feeding a 20,000-plate database with blocklist / allowlist control. Carpark, fleet yard, toll-point and multi-site ANPR.

Bandwidth
1280 Mbps in / record · 1024 out
Storage
8 SATA · RAID 0/1/5/6/10 · hot-swap
1280 Mbps recording bandwidth
Higher than any other 5-Series or smaller 6-Series sibling. Spread across 128 cameras, plan for ~10 Mbps per camera average — perfect for 4 MP H.265+ on motion-record. For higher-bitrate workloads, prioritise the high-traffic channels and reserve the rest for lower-resolution sub-streams.
32-channel 1080p decoding
The decoder handles 32 cameras at 1080p simultaneously for the live wall, or 2 × 32 MP @ 30 fps for the highest-res cameras. Reserve high-resolution decoding for the channels you actually display.
4× HDMI + 2× VGA outputs
Drive up to six independent displays. HDMI3 supports 8K display; HDMI1 / HDMI2 deliver 4K each. Heterogeneous mode lets each HDMI run an independent layout — ideal for control rooms with multi-monitor walls.
8 SATA bays · drawer hot-swap
Eight surveillance-grade HDDs (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) up to 16 TB each in a drawer-style chassis — swap drives during operation without taking the recorder down. Total ~128 TB on-board.
Hardware RAID 0/1/5/6/10
Survive single-drive (RAID 5) or dual-drive (RAID 6) failures with zero footage loss. RAID 10 for performance + redundancy. Rebuilds run in the background while recording continues.
eSATA + iSCSI + ESS1504C expansion
External SATA archive port, iSCSI network storage, plus optional Dahua ESS1504C 4-HDD eSATA storage tray — essential for the long-retention workloads that 128-camera sites typically require.

Enterprise I/O — 2.5 GbE dual NIC, 16 alarm-in, hot-swap chassis
Dual 2.5 Gigabit NICs
Two independent RJ-45 ports running at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps — 2.5× faster than the gigabit NICs on the 5-Series. Bondable for multi-address, load-balance and fault-tolerance modes (critical at 128-camera scale).
16 alarm-in / 8 alarm-out
Physical terminal block for 16 alarm inputs and 8 alarm outputs — wire in PIRs, door sensors, glass-break detectors, panic buttons, sirens or gate triggers for hardware-level event linkage.
4 × USB (2 × 2.0 + 2 × 3.0)
Two front USB 2.0 plus two rear USB 3.0 ports — plug in backup drives, USB mice, keyboards or service tools without juggling cables behind the rack.
RS-232 + RS-485
One RS-232 plus one RS-485 (A/B) — integrate with POS systems, gate controllers, access control panels, PTZ joysticks or third-party VMS that need legacy serial.
N+M cluster failover
Pair multiple 6-Series NVRs in an N+M cluster — backup recorders automatically take over if a primary fails, ensuring zero footage loss. Particularly important at 128-camera scale where a single-recorder outage would breach SLA.
ONVIF (T / S / G) + DSS Pro
Full ONVIF profile support plus Dahua's DSS Pro VMS for multi-site centralised control. Native integration with Sony, Axis, Pelco, Arecont, Canon, Samsung and any ONVIF-compliant camera.
NVR608H-128 vs the family — how it compares
The 608H-128 (this model) is the maximum channel-count single recorder in Dahua's AU/NZ NVR range — four times the channels of the 608H-32 sibling with twice the AcuPick capacity and 25% higher recording bandwidth. Choose this when you need every camera on one recorder. For sites running 32 cameras or fewer with the same WizMind feature depth, step down to the 608H-32.

Frequently asked questions
What's the real difference between the 608H-128 and the 608H-32?
Same hardware platform — same 2U chassis with 8 HDD bays, same WizMind AI processor, same dual 2.5 GbE NICs, same 4 × HDMI outputs (including the 8K port). The differences are the IP channel licence (128 vs 32) and the AcuPick capacity (64 channels vs 32). At 128 channels, the recording bandwidth (1280 Mbps) is shared across four times as many cameras, so plan camera resolutions accordingly — 4 MP H.265+ is the sweet spot.
Does the WizMind series get a longer warranty?
Yes — WizMind 6-Series enterprise NVRs ship with a 5-year warranty in Australia, two years longer than the 3-year warranty on Dahua's WizSense (4-Series and 5-Series) products. The longer cover reflects the project-grade build and is part of why WizMind units carry a premium over WizSense.
Why does AcuPick only run on 64 channels when the NVR supports 128?
AcuPick is heavy on AI-chip resources — running attribute extraction and image-search against 128 channels simultaneously isn't possible on the current 6-Series silicon. You choose which 64 of the 128 channels run AcuPick (the rest still record, and still get ANPR / SMD Plus / perimeter via camera-side AI on Dahua WizSense or WizMind IPCs).
Why doesn't it have built-in PoE?
The 6-Series is purpose-built for enterprise headend deployments. 128 cameras through built-in PoE ports would mean a 4U+ chassis with extreme power draw. At this scale, sites always have a managed switching layer — pair this NVR with a stack of 24 or 48-port managed PoE+ switches across two or more network closets.
How big a PoE switch stack do I need for 128 cameras?
Allow about 7–15 W per camera for Dahua WizSense bullets/turrets, more for active-deterrence and PTZ cameras. Three 48-port PoE+ switches with ~370–500 W each will run 128 typical cameras comfortably, with spare ports for VoIP and APs. CCTV Guru can quote a complete switch + NVR + camera bundle.
How much storage do I need for 128 cameras at 30 days retention?
For 128 × 4 MP cameras at H.265+ on motion-record, expect ~80–110 TB for 30 days. Eight 16 TB surveillance-grade drives (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) in RAID 5 gives ~112 TB usable — exactly the right size with single-disk redundancy. For longer retention or higher resolution, add the ESS1504C eSATA expansion tray or use iSCSI to a NAS.
Is the DHI-NVR608H-128-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 444 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.4 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives. The drawer-style HDD bays support hot-swapping, so you can replace failed drives without unmounting the chassis from the rack.
