Omada SDN integration is optional and enables centralised cloud or hardware controller management for multi-site or larger deployments. Can I use the SFP slots for fibre connections? Yes. The 2 SFP slots support 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps SFP transceivers, including multimode and single-mode fibre modules, making them suitable for uplinks to core switches or inter-building fibre runs. Is the TL-SG2210MP compatible with non-TP-Link PoE devices? Yes. The switch is compliant with the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) and 802.3af (PoE) standards, so it will power any standards-compliant PoE device regardless of brand — including IP cameras, access points, and VoIP phones from other manufacturers. What is the difference between PoE and PoE+? Standard PoE (802.3af) delivers up to 15.4 W per port, while PoE+ (802.3at) delivers up to 30 W per port. The TL-SG2210MP supports PoE+, making it compatible with higher-power devices such as PTZ cameras, dual-radio access points, and video door intercoms. Can I mount the TL-SG2210MP in a rack? Yes. It is an unmanaged switch. There is no web interface or software — modes (Extend, Priority, Isolation) are toggled via physical buttons on the unit. This makes it fast to deploy with no configuration required. What is PoE Auto Recovery and why does it matter? PoE Auto Recovery periodically checks whether connected PoE devices (such as IP cameras) are still responding. If a device becomes unresponsive, the switch automatically cuts and restores power to reboot it — eliminating the need to manually power-cycle cameras or access points on site. How does Extend Mode work? Pressing the Extend Mode button reduces port speed to 10Mbps on ports 1–4 and extends the maximum cable distance from 100m to 250m. This is particularly useful for IP cameras installed at the perimeter of a large property or car park where running power is impractical. What is Isolation Mode used for? Isolation Mode prevents devices connected to different ports from communicating directly with each other, while still allowing all devices to access the uplink (internet/NVR). It's useful in shared environments — such as retail stores, hotels, or apartment buildings — where you want to keep client devices separated for security. Can I use the SFP port with a fibre module? Yes. Port 10 is a combo SFP/RJ45 port that accepts a standard Gigabit SFP fibre module (single-mode or multi-mode, sold separately). This allows you to connect the switch to a fibre backbone or upstream switch over long distances where copper Ethernet is impractical. How does the TL-SG1210MP compare to the TL-SF1005P? The TL-SG1210MP offers significantly more: Gigabit speeds (vs 100Mbps), 8 PoE+ ports (vs 4 PoE ports), a higher 123W budget (vs 58W), PoE Auto Recovery, Isolation Mode, Extend Mode, and an SFP uplink port. It's the better choice for professional CCTV and business network installations.
