Every centimetre of the cable acts as a sensor, so extending it lets you protect more of the room — along walls, under sinks, behind the washing machine or across the basement floor. It plugs straight into the 3.5 mm socket via a simple quick-connect, needs no batteries and has no electronics of its own: the mains-powered Eve Water Guard base unit does all the sensing, alerting and Apple HomeKit work. Does the cable extension work on its own?
No. It has no electronics, radio or siren of its own. It plugs into an Eve Water Guard leak detector (sold separately) and simply lengthens the water-sensing cable.
How far can I extend the sensing cable?
The Eve Water Guard ships with a 2 m sensing cable and can be extended with these 2 m extensions up to a total of 150 m (490 ft). Every centimetre of cable acts as a sensor.
Do I need batteries?
No. The extension is a passive sensing cable with no batteries or electronics. The mains-powered Eve Water Guard base unit drives everything.
Can I daisy-chain several extensions together?
Yes. Extensions connect end to end via the 3.5 mm jack, so you can run the cable along walls, under sinks and around the whole room up to the 150 m maximum.
Which ecosystem does it work with?
It inherits the Eve Water Guard's platform — Apple HomeKit. There is no separate app or setup for the extension; once plugged in, the extra length is monitored automatically.
