8 × Built-in Gigabit PoE Ports — 180W Budget
Power and connect UniFi cameras, access points, and PoE devices directly from the UDM-SE — no separate PoE switch required. 6 × PoE (15.4W) + 2 × PoE+ (30W) with a total 180W budget.
3.5 Gbps IDS/IPS Routing
Enterprise-grade threat management with signature-based IPS/IDS, application-aware firewall, content filtering, country blocking, and full stateful firewall — all at 3.5 Gbps wire speed.
10G SFP+ LAN + 10G SFP+ WAN
Dual 10G SFP+ ports — one for high-speed LAN uplink to a core switch, one for 10G WAN connectivity — alongside a 2.5 GbE RJ45 WAN port for flexible ISP connection.
Built-in UniFi Protect NVR
The 3.5″ HDD bay enables full UniFi Protect camera recording locally on the UDM-SE. The built-in 128GB SSD stores AI detection thumbnails and event clips separately for fast retrieval.
1.3″ Touchscreen Display
Monitor system status, network health, PoE port activity, and storage status directly on the unit via the built-in touchscreen — no PC or app required for on-site diagnostics.
Full UniFi Application Suite
Runs UniFi Network, UniFi Protect, and the full UniFi OS application suite out of the box — no separate cloud key, controller, or NVR hardware required.
Advanced VPN & SD-WAN
WireGuard, L2TP, OpenVPN server/client, IPsec site-to-site VPN, one-click Teleport VPN, and licence-free SD-WAN — all built in with no additional licensing.
Power Redundancy — USP-RPS Compatible
Connect the optional Ubiquiti USP-RPS Power Backup for enhanced power redundancy — keeping your network, cameras, and PoE devices running during power events.
✅ Choose UDM-SE if you need…
Built-in PoE to power cameras and APs directly, a larger 180W PoE budget, 128GB SSD for AI detection clips, and a 1.3″ touchscreen. Best for deployments where the UDM-SE replaces both a gateway and a PoE switch.
✅ Choose UDM-Pro if you need…
Pure routing/gateway performance with dual 10G SFP+ and no built-in PoE. Best for deployments where a separate managed PoE switch is already in place and you want maximum routing throughput.
🏢 Small to Medium Business
Replace gateway, PoE switch, controller, and NVR with a single UDM-SE. Ideal for offices, retail stores, and professional services firms wanting a clean, consolidated setup.
🏡 Advanced Home Networks
Power users who want enterprise-grade routing, IDS/IPS, PoE for cameras and APs, and UniFi Protect recording — all from one rack-mount unit.
📹 UniFi Protect Camera Systems
Power up to 8 UniFi cameras directly from the built-in PoE ports and record locally via the HDD bay — no separate UNVR or PoE switch required.
🌐 Multi-WAN & Failover
Dual-WAN failover and load balancing across 10G SFP+ and 2.5 GbE WAN ports, plus LTE backup support for maximum uptime.

📖 Quick-Start Guide
Installation guide and documentation included.
⚠️ Not Included
3.5″ HDD for UniFi Protect storage, cameras, and USP-RPS power backup are sold separately.
Does the UDM-SE require a UniFi subscription?
No. UniFi Network and UniFi Protect run fully locally on the UDM-SE. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required for full functionality.
How many cameras can the UDM-SE power directly?
Up to 8 cameras via the built-in PoE ports, subject to the 180W total PoE budget. For example, 8 × G6 Turret cameras at 9.25W each = 74W — well within budget.
What is the difference between the UDM-SE and UDM-Pro?
The UDM-SE has 8 × built-in PoE ports (180W budget), a 128GB SSD, and a 1.3″ touchscreen. The UDM-Pro has no built-in PoE but offers dual 10G SFP+ and is better suited for pure routing deployments with a separate managed switch.
What hard drive do I need for UniFi Protect?
Any compatible 3.5″ SATA HDD. Ubiquiti recommends surveillance-grade drives (e.g. WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk) for 24/7 recording reliability. The drive is not included.
Does it support dual-WAN failover?
Yes. The UDM-SE supports dual-WAN failover and load balancing across the 2.5 GbE RJ45 WAN and 10G SFP+ WAN ports, plus LTE backup via a compatible USB LTE modem.
Can I view cameras remotely?
Yes. The UniFi Protect app supports remote viewing via the UniFi cloud relay — no port forwarding required. Remote access is free with a UniFi account.
