What credentials does the Reader Flex support?
NFC cards and key fobs, mobile BLE, Apple/Google Wallet passes, and PIN entry via the 12-button capacitive keypad.
Does it require a subscription or licence?
No. UniFi Access runs locally and is fully licence-free — there are no monthly fees or per-door charges.
Can I use it outdoors in Australia?
Yes. The Reader Flex is rated IP55 for indoor and outdoor use with a −30°C to 60°C operating range, suiting exposed Australian entries and gates.
What do I need to run it?
A UniFi Access Hub plus a UniFi Access host (such as a UNVR, Cloud Key, or Dream Machine running UniFi Access), and a PoE switch or injector to power the reader.
What's the difference between the Black and White versions?
Identical specs and performance — only the finish differs. Black (UA-G3-Flex-B) suits dark or modern fit-outs; White (UA-G3-Flex-W) suits light walls and doorframes.
Is the Reader Flex NDAA compliant?
Yes. Ubiquiti is a US-based manufacturer and the UA-G3-Flex is NDAA Section 889 compliant — suitable for government and security-sensitive sites.
