How much PoE can the USW-16-POE deliver?
It has eight PoE/PoE+ ports (up to 32W per port) sharing a 42W total PoE budget. The internal power supply is rated at 60W, which covers both the switch and PoE output.
Is the USW-16-POE fanless?
Yes. It uses a passive, fanless cooling system for completely silent operation — ideal for offices, studios, and quiet environments.
Does it need a UniFi controller?
For full management you need a UniFi Network host such as a Cloud Gateway, Dream Machine, or Cloud Key running UniFi Network 7.2.94 or later.
What are the SFP ports for?
The two 1G SFP ports provide fibre or high-speed copper uplinks to a core switch or gateway. SFP modules are sold separately.
Is the USW-16-POE NDAA compliant?
Yes. Ubiquiti is a US-based manufacturer and the USW-16-POE is NDAA Section 889 compliant — suitable for government and security-sensitive sites.

Yes. It is a 1U rack-mount switch and ships with SGCC steel mounting brackets for standard 19″ racks.
