What's the difference between the standard 3849 and the 3849 PRO?
The PRO tier uses a larger 1/1.8" sensor (vs 1/2.7" on standard) and a much faster F1.0 lens (vs F1.6) — delivering usable colour night vision at 0.0008 Lux vs 0.003 Lux. If you install cameras in genuinely dark positions (rural, undercover, unlit driveways), the PRO is worth the extra cost.
Will it deter intruders automatically without me doing anything?
Yes. The TiOC deterrence chain fires the instant SMD 4.0 confirms a human or vehicle inside the rule zone — strobe, siren and voice all run on-camera 24/7, without any operator, NVR command or mobile-app interaction.
Can I turn off the strobe or siren for daytime?
Yes — per-schedule arming/disarming via DMSS or the web UI. Common setup: deterrence off business hours, on overnight and weekends.
How loud is the siren?
110 dB SPL @ 10 cm from a 2 W built-in speaker — loud enough to be uncomfortable at close range without being neighbour-nuisance from across the street.
Does it need PoE+ or will standard PoE work?
PoE+ (802.3at) is required at full output (15.1 W peak with siren + strobe + warm light active). Standard 802.3af PoE may power the base camera but will cause the deterrence chain to under-perform or reset.
What's the difference between the "-ANZ" and standard IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV-PRO?
The -ANZ is the Australia / New Zealand regional variant with local firmware, supported by Dahua AU — that's what carries the local 3-year warranty. Non-ANZ grey-market units are not warranted by AU distributors.
Can I remotely re-frame or zoom?
No — this is a fixed 2.8 mm lens (or 3.6 mm). Pick focal length up front. For remote zoom, use the motorised 5559 series.
Will it work with my existing Hikvision or UNV NVR?
Yes for live view + recording via ONVIF Profile S/T, and the on-camera deterrence still triggers automatically. AI features (AcuPick, human/vehicle metadata) only work end-to-end with a Dahua AI NVR.
