Dahua DH-SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1 — 4 MP 5× TiOC WizSense Network Mini PT Camera with Active Deterrence
The Dahua DH-SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1 is a compact WizSense pan-tilt-zoom IP camera built around a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor that outputs 4 MP (2560 × 1440) at 25/30 fps with Smart H.265+ encoding. A motorised vari-focal 2.7 – 13.5 mm F1.6 – F3.0 lens gives 5× optical zoom across a 94.9° – 30.1° horizontal field of view, while the on-board pan-tilt mechanism delivers 355° pan and –15° to +90° tilt with 300 stored presets and 8 tours. Smart Dual Light pairs a 50 m IR illuminator with a 30 m warm-light array — invisible IR at night until WizSense classifies a target, then warm-light pop-on for full-colour evidence. WDR is 120 dB; the housing is IP66 sealed with TVS 6000 V lightning, surge and voltage-transient protection across –30 °C to +60 °C. Full TiOC active deterrence — red/blue light warning with three flash frequencies, 11 built-in sound alarms plus 10 importable custom sounds, and a built-in speaker — runs alongside SMD 3.0 and Auto Tracking Lite. Built for Australian residential, small-business and small-yard installs that need framing flexibility plus an audible/visual deterrent in one compact head. Power is 12 VDC at 2 A ± 10% or PoE+ (802.3at), peak 15 W. Backed by a 3-year Australian warranty through CCTV Guru.

See the Dahua TiOC PRO Platform in Action
Dahua's official TiOC PRO highlight — the same active-deterrence platform that runs on the SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1. Red/blue light warning, audible alarms, smart dual light and AI classification working together to challenge intruders the moment they're detected.
Why Choose the Dahua SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1
This is the Dahua mini-PT for installs that need a single camera to do framing flexibility, deterrence and AI detection — without the cost or footprint of a full speed dome. Below are the six reasons it outperforms generic 4 MP fixed bullets when one motorised head can replace several fixed cameras.
One Head, Three Cameras' Worth of Coverage
355° pan + 105° tilt + 5× zoom means a single SD3E405DB can patrol where three fixed bullets would be needed. Define presets at install time and the camera auto-cycles through them on a tour, covering the whole site from one mount.
True 4 MP Detail, Not Upscaled
The 1/2.8" CMOS captures a native 2560 × 1440 frame — double the pixel density of 1080p. Combined with 5× optical zoom, faces, plates and signage stay readable across the camera's full pan range.
TiOC Active Deterrence Built-In
Red/blue strobe with three flash frequencies, an 11-sound audible alarm library, 10 custom-sound upload slots and a built-in speaker — all triggered automatically by WizSense IVS events. Intruders are challenged the moment they're detected.
Smart Dual Light, No Light Pollution
50 m IR runs invisibly until WizSense classifies a person or vehicle, then the 30 m warm-light array switches on the target to capture full-colour evidence. No permanent white-light wash for neighbours to complain about.
Compact 1.5 kg Form Factor
At 142.6 × 140 × 236.1 mm and 1.5 kg, the SD3E405DB fits where a full speed dome won't — eave corners, shopfront signs, small-yard poles, lightweight aluminium gantries. Standard junction-box and wall-bracket footprint.
Built for Australian Outdoor
IP66 sealed against driving rain, TVS 6000 V lightning + surge + voltage-transient protection, and rated –30 °C to +60 °C. RCM-marked, AS/NZS-compliant, supplied from our Australian warehouse with same-day dispatch.
Important Install Note — PoE+ Required
This camera draws up to 15 W when illuminator, heater, speaker and PTZ are all active. It requires 802.3at PoE+, not standard 802.3af, or a local 12 VDC 2 A supply. A typical 802.3af switch will not deliver enough power under peak load — the camera may run but may brown-out the warm light or active deterrence on event. On cable runs approaching the 100 m Ethernet limit, plan for a midspan injector or local DC.
AI & Smart Detection Capabilities
WizSense Edge AI
Independent AI chip running Dahua's deep-learning algorithms for human and vehicle classification. Reduces false alarms by filtering out animals, branches and shadows — only the right type of target generates an event.
Perimeter Protection (IVS)
Tripwire, intrusion, crossing-fence detection, loitering, abandoned/missing object, fast-moving, parking detection, people gathering and human/vehicle alarm classification — all with linkage tracking.
Auto Tracking Lite
When an IVS event fires, the camera can auto-rotate and zoom to keep the target framed for the duration of the alarm. Lighter-weight tracking than full WizTracking but plenty for typical residential and SMB scenes.
SMD 3.0 Smart Motion
Smart Motion Detection 3.0 filters out animal and foliage motion at the edge — alerts only fire on people and vehicles. Slashes false-alarm volume on bushland-adjacent and rural-yard sites.
Auto Patrol After Event
When an IVS rule triggers, the camera links to a preset and patrols based on its stored positions — verifying the scene through the rest of the property without an operator touching the joystick.
TiOC Active Deterrence Stack
Red/blue light warning with three flash frequencies and configurable duration. 11 built-in sound alarms plus 10 importable custom sounds. Volume and play-count configurable. Built-in speaker keeps the audio response on-board.
PT Kinematics
355° Pan Range
Wide pan coverage with a 5° mechanical limit — covers an entire hemisphere from a single mount. Power-off memory keeps the position on reboot.
–15° to +90° Tilt
Tilt range covers slightly above horizon down through straight-down. Suitable for eave-mounted overhead patrol of a driveway, carpark or yard.
Manual + Preset Speeds
Manual speed to 36°/s pan and 25.8°/s tilt. Preset speed to 35.7°/s pan and 27.1°/s tilt — fast enough for IVS-triggered scene checks but smooth enough for human-operated framing.
300 Presets · 8 Tours
Store up to 300 named positions and 8 multi-stop tours (32 presets per tour). Set the camera to cycle through key zones on idle, or auto-patrol after an IVS alarm fires.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Dahua SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1 NDAA compliant?
No. Dahua is not certified under NDAA Section 889. If your project has an NDAA mandate (US federal, certain Australian government contracts, or critical-infrastructure tenders that follow the same standard), choose a NDAA-compliant brand from our range instead.
Is this a full PTZ or just pan-tilt?
It's a "mini-PT" — full pan (355°), full tilt (–15° to +90°) and motorised optical zoom (5×). It is NOT a full speed dome — the pan stops 5° short of endless rotation, and the slew rate is slower than a full PTZ. For continuous 360° endless pan, see Dahua's full PTZ range.
Does it support AcuPick?
No. AcuPick is reserved for the higher-tier WizSense and WizMind cameras. This SD3 build has Auto Tracking Lite and SMD 3.0 — strong AI for an entry-tier mini-PT, but no attribute-based recorded-video search. For AcuPick attribute search, look at the WizSense 3 Smart Dual Light bullets or X-Spans PTZs.
Is this a TiOC camera?
Yes — the A-PV1 suffix is the TiOC active-deterrence indicator. The camera includes red/blue strobe with three flash frequencies, an 11-sound audible alarm library (with 10 custom upload slots) and a built-in speaker.
What power does it need?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) or 12 VDC at 2 A. Maximum draw is 15 W with illuminator, PTZ, speaker and heating glass all active — too close to the 12.95 W ceiling of standard 802.3af, so plan for 802.3at PoE+ or a local DC supply.
How far can it see at night?
Smart Dual Light gives 50 m on IR and 30 m on warm light. The 5× optical zoom can pull a target into the frame at the IR limit — useful for driveways and small carparks where the camera doesn't need 100 m+ reach.
Does it have a built-in speaker?
Yes — built-in speaker for active-deterrence audio playback. The speaker and the line-out audio output are mutually exclusive — use one or the other. Same applies to the built-in mic and line-in audio.
Does it work with third-party NVRs?
Yes — ONVIF Profile S, G and T are supported, so it will record to any ONVIF-compatible third-party NVR. Active deterrence triggers and IVS event metadata only push end-to-end on a genuine Dahua AI NVR.
Can the camera follow a target automatically?
Yes — Auto Tracking Lite lets the camera lock onto a target the IVS classifies as a person or vehicle and keep it framed through the duration of the alarm. Lighter than full WizTracking but plenty for residential and SMB use cases.
Can I view the camera live on my phone?
Yes — the camera works with Dahua's free DMSS app on iOS and Android. Add the device with the QR code on the housing, sign in, and you get live view, two-way audio, motion alerts and recorded-footage playback from anywhere with internet. No subscription required.
